Go to your App Store (or Google Play Store) and search for Flipboard. Download it. Love it.
An hour ago, I was slowly transcribing an interview for an article and I got a text from my friend Victor asking me to check out Flipboard. Five minutes on their website and I was SOLD.
Flipboard, a social magazine, “is on a quest to transform how people discover, view and share content by combining the beauty and ease of print with the power of social media,” according to their website.
It was created by Mike McCue, former CEO of Tellme, and Evan Doll, former Senior iPhone Engineer at Apple. Its available for iPad, iPhone, Nook, Android and Kindle Fire.
Once you create your account, it’ll ask you to pick categories to start with including news, technology, design, photography, business, sports, style and travel. It also has featured cover stories.
I don’t really enjoy most of the free news apps that there are because sometimes they’re very slow and boring, but I love this! You literally just flip through pages and interests until you find something you like. It’s very image heavy (very Facebook Timeline-ish), with the links to the stories embedded in a tweet. It’s extremely easy to figure out.
You can also link your Facebook and Twitter to it, but I opted out. There’s still something that freaks me out about linking social networks together.
