100 hopefuls from across the nation gathered at the Los Angeles Center Studios waiting to be narrowed down to the top 10 contestants on Internet Icon.
What’s Internet Icon, you ask? It’s like American Idol, but for Asians.
Internet Icon, hosted by Youtube star Chester See, is a webseries competition show on the YOMYOMF Network Channel on Youtube. The top 10 contestants will participate in different video challenges every week. The judges, Youtube sensation Ryan Higa and television and movie star Christine Lakin, will judge the challenges, eliminating at least one contestant per week.
The first episode aired on June 13, 2012 and the final episode will air sometime in August 2012.
The grand prize winner (chosen by audience votes) will receive $5,000, a Macbook Pro with Final Cut Pro X (a must have for vloggers!) and a trip to Europe, among a bunch of other prizes.
One the first episode, we saw Ryan and Christine get to meet the contestants and watch their submission videos. There were videos ranging from a Brit in America to how-to videos to… farting? How will Christine and Ryan make up their mind, with so much potential in the air?
Tune in next Thursday to see who is picked to be on the Top 10!
